Short Film Screening: Sex Work and Relationships

Join us this Valentine's Day for a screening of the short film: Sex Work and Relationships.

This sex worker only project was realised during the covid lockdowns of 2021 and worked on by contributors from 3 cities and 2 countries, without knowing each other.

It includes testimonials from people with lived experience of sex work who talk about what they wish from their loved ones. 

The project was self-organised and crowd funded in order to pay everyone involved for their contributions. 

This film is a continuation of the 2011 clip “Every Ho I Know Says So” by the Australian collective Scarlett Alliance.

Ticket sales for this event will be split 50/50 between The Scarlett Letters bookshop and the initiator of the film, who is redistributing to  "Putas Libertarias Raval" in Barcelona. This donation will contribute to the ongoing legal defence of activists that have recently suffered persecution and repression.

Doors will open at 6pm and we will begin our screening at 6:30pm. Before the film, we will begin with an introduction from one of the creators explaining their inspiration behind making the film and their process of creating it.

About the initiator

sugar pa! 

I got stuck in a place that was not safe for me as a queer, racialized, non binary hooker during covid. I had no community around me whilst struggling in an abusive relationship. I was silenced and gaslighted when i started talking about my experiences, seeking help.

Continuing the work of scarlett alliance in australia "every ho i know says so", this project was an anchor to me during a difficult time
