About the authors

Beth Ashley is author of Sluts: The Truth About Sex Shame and What We Can Do To Fight It, published by Penguin Random House in 2024. It explores where sex shame came from in the first place, how it's managed to stick around for so long, why we judge others based on the sex they have and what we can do to stop it. She's also creator of The Slut Map, a map project that documents laws affected by sex shame across the world, and is a leading sex and relationships journalist in the UK writing for the likes of The Guardian, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, The Face, Mashable, Vogue, Refinery29 and more.

Rachel Thompson is a leading sex and relationships writer in the UK who has written for The Guardian, The Sunday Times Style, GQ, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, Stylist, ELLE, Refinery29, and the i paper. Rachel is the author of The Love Fix: Reclaiming Intimacy in a Disconnected World, published by Vintage, Penguin Random House, in 2025. The Love Fix is an investigation into how the internet shapes our expectations, self-esteem, and search for intimacy as we date online and in-person. Stylist named The Love Fix one of the best non-fiction books about love. Rachel's first book Rough: How Violence Has Found Its Way Into the Bedroom And What We Can Do About It, a non-fiction investigation into sexual violence was published by Vintage in 2021 to critical acclaim. By day, Rachel is features editor at Mashable, where she manages the sex, dating, and relationships section.
